How many ways can you say thank you? If not for all of you we wouldn’t exist. We wouldn’t be able to bring our festivals and events to the various cities around the country. If you’re going to shop this weekend, then please shop small and support small businesses. We have plugged our new WhimsyPlates, but we also have shirts and bags you can order too. All our vendors need support and there’s so many amazing items to choose from, literally from soup to nuts. 🙂
Holidays with Family
I’m in NY with family for the first time in 15 years. They are not vegan. They are in the kitchen cooking their non-vegan meal while I write this newsletter. I picked up a vegan feast (just for me) from The Purple Elephant on Long Island. It has everything you could possibly want and the plan is to have leftovers so I can eat on repeat over the next few days. I’m so excited.
I was able to attend the pre-Thanksliving with the Triangle Vegetarian Society on Tuesday at CoCo in Chapel Hill, NC. It was delicious and lovely to be with community before traveling.
As much as the meal will not be fully vegan this year, being surrounded by family is super special. If there’s anything to be thankful for it’s the love of a family. The joy of being surrounded by the type of weird that is truly represented by these incredible humans.
Pickleball
I’m also thankful for pickleball. It’s changed my life and we will play Friday and Saturday before I head to my next destination.
To bring things full circle, I will be visiting with Steven’s mom on Sunday and it’s also Steven’s birthday. I have the family photos that he kept to give to her. I feel like this will bring some closure. They set aside ashes for me in a small urn to bring home.
So I will end here. Tears are welling up in my eyes.
May today be a day surrounded by love. May the food on your plate be cruelty free and delicious. And may everyone your dining with want to try your food and be jealous of how delicious it looks and tastes.
Sending all of you love and compassion as we start the holiday season.
